  • Low audio levels after capture…

Posted by Michael Lansdell on June 13, 2007 at 10:14 am

Audio that is perfectly fine on the tape is coming in lower when I capture. I know it’s a capture problem because the line-up tone comes in at -20-22 decibels, not -18.
Appears to happen with both firewire captured stuff and blackmagic, any ideas?

Come on creative cow! You’ve not failed me before, help me again in my hour of need!

    Many thanks.

I’ve never seen this behavior. Maybe reinstalling QuickTime might help things.

Thru my Kona Card, analog audio comes in exactly as I’ve set it, and it does the same via firewire.

I have a mixer for the analog inputs of the Kona and use the meters in FCP to determine the levels for that, and as far as I know it should always match any all digital input.

Thank you, I’ll try that. I’ve only been at this company so long, but apparently it’s been a day one problem since they started using Final Cut here.
