Loving Matrox Color Correction Tools
Hi all….
I’m not a sales guy any more. Just a guy using this stuff..
I have to say…I am really enjoying many aspects of using the Matrox RT.X2 on a daily basis.
However I have to say I am really liking the color correction tools.
They are really saving my bacon on project I’m currently on.
The Primary and Secondary advanced with tonal range and color curves are just awesome!!!
The fact that they also plug into AE are a bonus as well.

Then I’m sure you know about holding down the CTL key while you are dragging the cursor around the color wheels. It scales down the mouse motion to allow much more subtle adjustment.
I did a color correction on a high-end TV spot recently, and the very picky client was impressed with the dramatic improvement we made to already very nice looking source material. Just a slight adjustment of the gamma curve in the luma mapping tool really pulls the details out of the shadows, and evens out the contrast.

No I was not aware of the CTRL key…
thanks for that…
I’d like a plot eye dropper in the curves tool so show me on each curve where whatever portion of the image you are sampling resides…
I’d also prefer more horizontal layout of the tools…
as there tends to be a lot of repetition of closing categories and scrolling the window to access everything….which on longer format projects starts to get tedious…
