Love Me! Squeeze Me! STRETCH ME!?!

Thanks to Stephen, I recently downloaded two free plug-ins from Too Much Too Soon https://www.mattias.nu/plugins/ called Anamorphic Squeeze and Smart Anamorphic which presumably convert 4:3 into 16:9. When I apply either of them this is what seems to happen.
My question is: when either of these filters are applied it stretches the clip in my viewer vertically. At what point in the editting/exporting process will this turn into 16:9 and look normal? Is it only after I export it to a QT movie? If so, are there particular recommended settings for the export process that will make this work out for the best?

Never. It will never look normal using that plugin. This is a plugin that stretches the image. My guess is that it stretches more on the edges than it does in the center, thus lowering the negative effect. Regardless, I have exceptional distaste for this kind of thing and I doubt it would pass QC for many broadcasters unless you are using it sparingly. Masters should be delivered in the original aspect ratio. If it must be 16:9, and it must fill the screen, then the only proper solution is to zoom and crop.
