lost video in FCP
Hi everyone
I was doing tutorials in Advanced Editing Techniques in FCP 5 and thought the training video was very dark. Now I can’t get any video anywhere on FCP. I can see other programs. is there a setting on FCP I must have pressed that I just cannot think of?

Can you be a little more specific? No video on an output monitor? No video in the canvas window…. the viewer window? If you generate some color bars and put them in a sequence, can you see them play in the canvas? -
Hi David,
Thank you for responding so quickly. I just figured out tha I had somehow unclicked image in both the canvas and viewer. Of course, as soon as I clicked them, back came the video. Talk about embarassing.

Oh please Barbara! Last week I had no video coming through my AJA card and had to call tech support, where the nice gentleman, without a trace of “what a dope!” in his voice, calmly asked me to check the FCP View>External Video menu. Sure enough it had reset to “Off”.
Doh!!!
