I’ve been using FCP since version2, but I have never figured this out:

I opened a FCP project while media drives were off line. As a result, all my thumbnails in the timeline show: Media Offline.

With the media drives back on-line, how do I get my thumbnails back? I can scrub the thumbnail and see the thumbnail, but as soon as I scroll the time line, I get the red Media-Offline frame again. Is there a way to re-load the thumbnail cache, or refresh the thumbnail clips??

You can trash your cache and it will rebuild the thumbnails. Find your Final Cut Pro Documents folder and the thumbnail chase is in there.

Worked perfectly. That’s eluded me for years. Thank you.
