  Lost sound on mac pro

  Hi

  My mac pro has lost its sound.

  The volume on the top bar says its on full. If I try and lower or mute via the keyboard I get the speaker symbol up with a circle and line through – under it.
  It will not adjust when you click on the top bar, the volume controller is ‘stuck’ at the top of the slider.
  It will not adjust with in the sound settings under preferences either. (greyed out)

  Very confusing – Im in head scratching mode.
