    hello,

Running PPC G5 dual 2GHZ, 2 gig ram, 10.5 Dinosaur now i know
    FINAL CUT 6.0.4

    1280 x 720 Sequance Apple pro Res 422.

OK so im editing a break dancing clip that was shot on a canon 550D at 50fps 720. And another camera a Panasonic g1 that I conformed in Compressor to Apple pro res after it was conformed to h264 from AVHS.

After getting my sequence ready to color. Exporting clips in the sequence that had been speed adjusted. And getting every thing neatly onto one track (basically every one of my clips was speed were speed adjusted and speed up to real time)

I sent the project to color. I noticed one of my clips that i had exported was offline and was confused. I tried to render one of my clips and sent it back to color as it was just black on the display. I though FCP may show the effect. it asked if i would like to change my sequance settings to match i clicked yes. I then wanted to check out the new Color package i had downloaded and decided to give it a go on my Laptop which has an intel processor and runs the latest quiktime as i did not have the latest required for the color fx packages on my PPC.

Upon opening the project in my laptop i lost 80% of my render files of my exported clips. I guess i must have not made the clips self contained and they still linked to the render file? I had duplicated the project file as my laptop runs FCP STUDIO 3 and my PPC runs STUDIO 2.0. when i went back to my PPC the render clips had disappeared.

now looking at an entire days work re-clipping the project that has close to 100 cuts.

Ive looked through my hard-drive and the render files are not there. very strange. trashed my preferences in the hope this may fix. Allas it did not.

    Any help?

I’m confused by your post. You seem to describe a few problems. Is the main problem that you changed your project from FCP to the laptop running FCS3 and can’t see the renders from Color? If that is what you did, you haven’t told us how you swapped to the laptop.

Did you just plug an external in with the project from the PPC? Are all your Color renders on this drive or did you copy rather than Media Manage the project to another drive? If you are missing renders from Color, they are stored where you set the prferences in Color so they may be missing from the drive you plugged into the laptop.
