    Hello guys!

I have a big problem. I’m editing with Finalcut pro 5.0.4, my project, a tv show, shut in HDV NTSC 1080i60 (29.97) with a SONY HDV CAM 3CCD. When I’m exporting from finalcut pro trough Quicktime movie, keeping the exact settings of my video from my timeline to after effects or motion 2. I LOST QUALITY!!??!! (less red and shiny!) WHY.

I have to export some footage for titling, and everytimes that happends!?!

Thats frustrating, I have to presents the first 3 episods next in 10 days and if someone have the same problem and solved it, CAN YOU tell me?

    Thanks

    Mario

If you’re exporting using the exact same settings, you’re probably recompressing the HDV using HDV compression (i.e. a photocopy of a photocopy). Export for titling using quicktime conversion with the animation codec. See if that fixes your problems?

Keep in mind that you’re probably not shooting with a square pixels, so when you do this your image will appear squeezed. You should let your title designer know what resolution your HDV camera shoots at so he/she can correct for this distortion when designing your titles.

    Hope that helps,

    Ben

Use File -> Export -> Quicktime Movie, (current settings), (make self contained) and that’s the best you’ll get. Don’t use quicktime conversion.
