lost or deleted the aged paper effect. need it back!
I had created a background using the aged paper effect. I must have generated a grey background, added the aged paper effect and added a blur. It was perfect for my project so I wanted to save it. I did rename the effect on the timeline. I had never saved an effect before so I monkeyed around and all of a sudden the aged paper effect was no longer in the stylized section of effects.
I have no idea how to get it back. I really need it.
I still have the clip on the timeline I made from it.
I also have an older copy of FCPX on another iMac.
Any ideas?

Aged Paper is a standard effect- start with that…

Do a search in the effects panel to make sure it’s really gone but the fastest way to restore it would be to reinstall FCPX.
