I use Avid Media Composer (Version 2.6.3) on a Mac G5 and use a Keyspan Twin adapter for machine control for 2 different tape machines. After a MC crash, I lost all of my settings. After getting those back, I no longer can get machine control through the Keyspan adapter. The Mac knows the adapter is there, and I’ve tried reinstalling the Keyspan software. I also reset deck configurations a few times to no avail. Everything else works fine, but I just don’t have use of the Keyspan adapter. Can’t find any other preferences that could be causing this. Does anyone have an ideas? Many thanks for your help.

go into system preferences/network and make sure that the keyspan is acknowleged by your system. Poke around in the netork menu until you find this “new serial device”. After that you should be fine.
