Lost Log and Capture Window – Just Capture Now.
I’m on FC Pro 6. I’ve always been able to just hit command 8 and get the window to log and capture my miniDV footage.
Now when I hit command 8 all I get is a dialogue window that will capture but not log anything.
Did some setting change all by itself?

Trash your preferences and you might get FCP to what you expect.

Is it possible that the easy setup is such that that is the ny way to capture? The way I capture from HDV to ProRes looks just as you describe.

Not sure.
But I’ve always been able to watch the video directly from my camera and log the parts I want to digitize. Then I click batch and it’ll automatically find those scenes and digitize them.
Now that window is gone. I only get the option to capture immediately with no logging.
But I haven’t trashed the prefs yet.
