I thought I had read somewhere that when you send an audio clip to Audition for editing it would preserve the fades, etc when it came back to Premiere. After cleaning a large series of clips in Audition it slowly dawned on me that Audition was permanently altering my clips’ levels to match my Premiere fades, which I had only roughed in. So now if I want to alter one of those clip’s fades, I have to go back to the original backup file, re-clean it, redetermine where the fades go, etc. Two questions: were my rough fades, indeed, cemented for good by Audition, as it appears? And (for future reference) is there a way to send to Audition so that the changes I make affect the original source file, but so that my Premiere effects remain in place and flexible?
