    Friends,

I’m hoping I’m just flaking on this… but I installed the FCP2 and since then am not able to get video onto the broadcast monitor. The two items may or may not be related, but the timing suggest some sort of correlation.

Running dual G5 with Blackmagic Extreme, going all SD, component out to NTSC… checked cables, checked output via the video desktop (working), and checked input to NTSC… just not getting anything out of FCP to the monitor. Blackmagic prefs are at SDI/Component; set black to output…OFF. Using Audio/Video Settings “Blackmagic NTSC 720×486” and have attempted other settings and multiple projects. What am I missing?

    Thanks so much!
    Ramsey

P.S. Does having the video desktop checked on or off (with restart) matter to FCP?

Don’t think so to your PS.

Did you install the latest drivers for your Decklink? If not, try that.

Are you set to display all frames? Make sure you have “View>External Video” set to “All Frames”

That has tripped me up a couple times lately

Could it be as simple as FCP External Video reseting itself to “Off”? I don’t have FCS2, but in FCP 5.x it will do that. Check: View>External Video

Ah ha! You guys are friggin’ brilliant. It just had to be something simple like that. It was, in fact, the ALL FRAMES was set to OFF in VIEW. Must have reset that with the new install and since I never get in there, didn’t think to go that direction.

    Thanks, folks!!

I am actually have that same problem but when i switch to all frames, I still only see a single frame of what i am cutting – not the sequence. I can see that in my computer monitor but not on my broadcast monitor. COuld this be something in my blackmagic settings? thanks!
