  • Lost deck control on PB with Avid Xpress Pro

    All,

I post on CC a lot, but not here, mainly in the FCP & asociated forums.

I’m working away and a client is self-opping a 17inch Powerbook with Xpress Pro, a Mojo, Stealth USB to 422 and a Lacie drive.
Whilst he was happilly editing away, the deck control vanished. We’ve been through the setiings, swapped USB ports and done the normal Mac things like repair permissions, no joy.

The deck is in italics in the capture window, I’ve tried setting the deck to a DVW500 as the autoconfigure won’t work either. I’ve checked the remote on the deck etc etc, but we are still lost.

    Any help gladly appreciated

    Peter

I’ve had different issues with USB-to-RS422/RS323 converters, but mainly on PC.
Do you have the chance to exchange this one for a keyspan usa-28x which is officially supported by avid (and has always worked for me)?
you can get the keyspan in almost any mac-store…

We managed to fix it by toggling off the 422, saving the project, quitting & rebooting then enabling the remote.

Strange. Thanks for the help though
