    Will needs “trim down these 20 min files and make a few smaller files,
    so exporting it is.
    unless he made x number of copies of the master file, then trimmed down each one!

    or used FCP to Batch Export or Media Manage.
    really, it;s not so complicated a situation.
    people do this every day

    Sure – I had suggested making copies of the clip before trimming. Didn’t say it was a neat solution! Personally I’d just make subclips in FCP, or capture it properly in the first place…
