    Hello,

I just bought a new macbookpro (2.4 ghz) with 2 gigs of Ram and os 10.5.5 and quicktime 7.5. When I try to digitize with my Canon XH A1, the digitizing stops in about 10 seconds with the message of a “temporary loss of video sync” error.

When I use the same mbp and canon camera with FinalCutPro, I have no problems digitizing. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi John,

No ideas yet but I do have questions!

    – What version of M100?
    – DV or HDV?
    – What codec are you capturing to?
    – Are you absolutely SURE you’re not running QuickTime 7.5.5?

    Hi Wick,

Thank you for the quick response.

I am using Producer 13.0. With DV there seems to be no problem.

With HDV even if I just play the footage, without starting to capture, I will get the loss of video sync in about 10 seconds. It does not matter which codec I have chosen.

I went to the about box for quicktime player and it says 7.5.0.

    Thanks again,

    John

    Okay,

I’ve got an idea but it’s going to be a bit too complicated to get into via a forum. Send me an email at support@media100.com so we can dig deeper.

For all the folks watching at home, don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated when there’s something to tell.

Have you tried the “Deferred” option?

It breaks up the copying/transcoding job into two separate tasks, thus making it easier for the computer to keep up.

Yes, I have. I don’t even have to start digitizing and it will stop playing the video in about 10 seconds.

By the way i sent you an email on Friday.

    thanks,

    John
