    Hi Guys,
I have started doing some work for a new local iptv station here in Australia.
I am using a Canon XL-H1 camcorder and Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 to edit.
I am getting great quality images when rendered and burnt to dvd etc.

The problem that is showing up is a faded, pulsing image when the guys at Bendigo IPTV take my edited footage and add a top and tail then render and upload to the hosting site. I think it may be a progressive or interlaced problem but am hoping you can help.
Here is a link to Bendigo IPTV https://www.bendigoiptv.com
My footage is called “Bendigo Rod Stock and Custom Show”

    Here is my workflow:
    1. Shoot footage in SD on my XL-H1
    2. Edit in VMSP-10 using Pal widescreen settings
    3. Print to tape on the XL-H1 using DV Camera, Pal Widescreen settings
    4. IPTV capture my tape to their premiere pro system using their Sony Z1 camcorder as a playdeck.
    5. They add a top and tail if necessary and encode and upload a H264 file

All their footage out of the studio captured directly seems fine. Some with their Z1 seems fine too, but some suffers??

    Any suggestions very much appreciated.

To me it just looks like they are encoding at a bit-rate that is way too low, like maybe even under 1MBps. Reminds me of the old modem dial-up internet days. I wouldn’t render at less than 4MBps for online video.

That is what I thought too Jim but not sure that explains the pulsing that happens (around 1 per second) that is especially noticable on still shots from my camera but does not show up on their studio shots which I expect are encoded at the same bit rate. Sometimes my footage is mixed with theirs, mine pulses and theirs doesn’t. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.
