Activity Forums Zaxwerks Loss of object quality after import

  • Loss of object quality after import

In ProAnimator, I created a ring object that looks really smooth and has reflections on it. I exported it as a zaxwerks-type object, but when I imported it into the program again to edit it, the quality had dropped dramatically. the preview resolution looked worse (even though the numbers had not changed), and when it was rendered, the reflections looked blocky and low-quality. The ring is made up of two Illustrator circles, each with a different edge scale. Any ideas what could be causing this problem (and more importantly, how it can be corrected)? Thanks.

    Hi Steve,

Invigorator/Proanimator when importing an object assign a so called File Hard Shading Angle preset to it. It may not always give you the best results.

To set the Hard Shading Angle manually, just select your object, open the Stats menu and alter the value from “File” to (40) for instance.

    Hope this helps.

    Salut,
    Serge
