  • Loss of audio sync

I use FC Pro 5.0.4 with the video card Digital Voodoo D1 64 RT (driver 7.5) and with the sound card AES-32 of RME, because in the past I’ve had problems with the audio section of Voodoo (many pops and clicks). Both are connected to a Leitch SPG-1601, one to BB out and the other to word clock out. The capture is OK but when I edit to tape I have a random loss of sync of 2 or 3 frames, the audio comes first than video. When I edit to tape FC PRO show me this warning:
The selected audio and video devices may not match:
    – Digital Voodoo…..
    – Hammerfall DSP AES-32
Please verify that the audio and video outputs are externally routed to the intended device(s). Do you want to proceed?
The settings on the RME for me are correct and also on the Voodoo.
I don’t know what to do. Please help me.

Digital Voodoo has not been supported since around FCP 3, so my guess is that, like the Cinewave cards, your device is obsolete.

    Dear Kevin,
as I have written, the last driver for the Voodoo is 7.5 released in March, 8 and works with FCP 5.0.4., OSX 10.4.5 and Quicktime 7.0.4. Is not so obsolete, for me. The card still works very well, but I have this big problem with audio. Can you help me? Thank you very much.

If you can’t find it on this page, it’s not supported by Apple: https://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/resources/devicelist.php

I’m surprised that Bluefish is still supporting FCP. I thought they officially dropped all support for the Mac when they changed their company name a couple of years ago.
