  • Losing renders after relinking – Oh wait they came back! Some of them…

One of our editors just experienced this frustrating little problem.

We had a show rendered out last night, ready for reviewing today. We switched edit stations to open up the freshly rendered sequence…There were a few clips that needed relinking unfortunately due to this switch (that is wholly different problem entirely). Nevertheless upon relinking the few problem files, all of our renders got kicked off. Shortly thereafter, about 75% returned.

    Any ideas?

    SPECS:
    MC 7.0.4
    Windows 7
    INTEL R XEON W3540 @2.93GHz
    12.0 GB RAM
    64 bit

    Thanks!

Videomixdown is far safer for robust review.
Sounds like you ate on shared storage? What system is that?
Was the relinking that had to be done AMA clips or Avid media?
