  • Losing render files in FCP7

I’m editing a fairly simple sequence in FCP7. The media is a mix of ProRes Proxy files and (put your gun down!) H.264 files from a Flip camera. The sequence is a ProRes Proxy timeline. There are many, many H.264 source files- most which wont be in the final sequence. The time we would have to spend converting them all would be daunting to say the least. That said, the editing is going smoothly. We render the timeline and it plays fine. But when we shut down the computer and return, the timeline is UNrendered again! I have searched the archives but cant find a concrete answer why this keeps happening. The render files have been assigned to a specific drive independent of the source footage’s drive. I cannot even find them to reconnect them to the sequence. What gives? Thanks.
