Losing color when importing AVI’s to PP CS5.5
I apologize if someone has already asked this, but I couldn’t find a relevant thread.
I upgraded from Premiere Pro CS3 to CS5.5 a couple months ago. Everything seemed to be working fine initially. However, as of today, whenever I attempt to import AVI’s, the colors are messed up. If I import other video formats, there’s no problem; the only problem is with AVI’s. They’re almost black and white, except for pale green and magenta here and there. The color is normal for a few seconds here and there, but the vast majority of the video is washed out. My first guess was that there’s a codec error, but the fact that the color is correct in spots would seem to indicate otherwise.
I haven’t made any other changes to the computer system since I installed the program. I’m running a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop, 64-bit, with Windows 7.
Anyone have an idea as to how to fix this?

They are uncompressed AVI’s. The ones that are being a problem were shot on a Sony VX2000. Until now, I’ve been using AVI’s purchased from stock media sites or shot on a Canon XL1 in PP CS5.5.
Checking the problem again, I’m noticing that sometimes the other AVI’s (h.264, divx, uncompressed) come up pixelated as though damaged, though they play fine in Windows Media Player, and show no problems in PP CS3.
