help, drifting audio sync in playback. Have tried adjusting off set in fcp prefs and reinstalling software and updating firmware, no success

    my set up:

    fcp 6.0.6
    macbook pro 2.4ghz 2007
pci siig firewire express card 34 (for the iohd)
firewire 800 mac (for the media drives gtech 2 x 1tb raid)
Tx monitor: sony lmd 2050w with sdi card
ref: aja gen10 hd/sd sync generator

    any ideas?

I would put your drives on the Express Card and the ioHD on your laptops fw800 bus.

I assume you have downloaded the 6.0.1 drivers for the I/O HD. Is this correct ?

    #1 follow Jeremy’s advice
#2 – when you lose sync, do you only lose sync when you scrub the timeline, or is it simply when playing back media ?

In FCP, go to system settings/playback tab, and turn off hi quality scrub (I think thats the menu name).

Thanks Jeremy, pretty obvious really. The answer is often right under your nose. It works a treat!

swapping the iohd onto the mac bus seemed to do the trick. Thanks for responding Bob
