    Hi all,

we are working out workflows for XDCAM. After installing PDZK-P1 we have
lost our raid serveral times. The raid is two Maxtor 300Gb, Seritek S-ATA card
and Firmtek box. Raid 0, simple stripe set.
When looking in disc utilitys the raid and one of the drives are “not connected”,
the second drive in the raid is “failed” (translated from Swedish, we are confused
about one of the drive beeing “failed”).

    G5 dual 2.0Ghz
    4Gb ram
    FCP Universal 5.1.1
    Mac OS 10.4.7
    QT 7.1.2

(maybe this forum isn’t the correct one, but I couldn’t find any better in Cow)

    Best,
    Robert

Nice to see a fellow XDCAMer out there….

WOW…. That sounds completely wierd! I use the software all of the time with my SD XDCAM stuff that I still have. Works just fine for me. Just wish I could select the audio channels I want to import.

Sounds like you had a drive going down already and when using this software, it killed it.

Now, that this has happend… You obviously lost everything. SO…. what I would suggest is to format the drives individually to see if they still work. And if they do, just restripe them and chug along. But I would suggest that you look into a pre-manufactured SATA drvie unit from someone like ProMax. Sometimes, homemade stuff won’t quite work in our field.
