Loose ability to synch multicamera by markers with “merged clips”?
So here is what I am trying to do:
Have 5D Video, and separate audio. Step one – I replace audio on Cam 1, creating “Merged Clip”.
Step 2: Put markers on both cams at a synch point.
Step three, create multicam sequence. Synch by markers is greyed out.
Synch by in/out points is available, but unlike FCP, when using in-points it seems to crop out all footage before IN. USEless if your synch point is father down the timeline.
Merge Clip is grayed out on the multicam clips after they are created.
Am I missing something? Is this a limitation of Premiere?

Why not just work with all the cameras and audio tracks in one sequence? You place a marker on each asset to sync to marker and then nest it to enable it as multi-cam. Seems like a merged clip, in this situation, is a wasted step.
