  • LoopOut(“cycle”) on Mask Path– fail!?!?

    Posted by Eric Chard on July 23, 2013 at 10:08 pm

    I’m rather surprised to see an error message when I attempted to apply loopOut(“cycle”) to animated Mask Path– see the screenie to see the error.

    Now, why would that be? To make sure, I used the verbose built-in expression too, it also failed. THEN because there was an asterisk in the comp name I thought maybe that was complicating the evaluation so I changed the name to remove the asterisk, no good.

    Anybody??? Very surprised at this!

    You can “roll your own”. This should work:

    d = key(numKeys).time – key(1).time;
    valueAtTime(time%d)

    Dan, thanks so much for your time!!!

    It seems I’m still not grokking how one simply/easily saves an Expression for later use (actually saving is easy– doing it in a productive way, not as easy): this time when I saved it as an Animation Preset, it saved the associated Mask along with it. Not so useful, but interesting.

    Is there a way to add to the “right arrow expression Library” that is alongside the Expressions line? Putting these various new Looping tools all in one place would really make this conceptually easier, when it falls out of my memory a week from now. >8^(

    Thanks again for your indispensable help!
