I’m making a few titles based off of George Polevoy’s tutorial:
    https://www.creativecow.net/articles/polevoy_george/flowing_title/index.html

I’m using the “Nervi Flow” as my template. I like how the text floats-in and slowly forms. I’d like the text to sit for a bit, then float-out/vaporize. I tried moving masks, keyframes around to ‘copy’ the float-in effect to make it a float-out effect to no avail. I extend the composition (and all related/nested compositions) to 10 seconds to fit my longest title. My final composition (Nervi Flow) stays the same from around 2:00 -> 10:00, regardless of what keyframes I moved around, or how the other nested compositions might be changed.

This is a very complicated effect to me, so clear instructions would be great lol. Thanks!

    Hi,

I had a similar effect in the title sequence of a movie I did. The titles blew in from the left – mimicking blowing sand – coalesced into the title, then blew away again off screen to the right. I used the shatter effect and a gradient map to initially get the titles to blow away to the right, then rendered that out once it looked right, imported the rendered clip, reversed it and Boom! I had the sand blowing in and forming the title! I made a new comp, put the reversed clip on it, a still of the complete title for as long as I wanted it to hold, and then the normal rendered clip blowing off to the right. Worked like a charm. I haven’t done the tutorial you mentioned to see if that would work or not. I’ll try it at home tonight and see.
