I have been looking around how to loop a comp. Thought it would be simpler, but maybe I’m missing something…

    Objective:
To loop a blade of grass swaying left to right.

    1 min long clip.
I time remapped the comp and cut it down to the 2 seconds I want.
I also added the loop out expression with 10 cycles.
Currently what is happening is the blade of grass is swaying and continues to sway beyond the point I want it to sway with the expression added. (I have a mask around it, because I want to repeat that particular movement) As the clip keeps playing, the blade of grass is cut off by the mask in place, and I am not looking to add movement to the mask.
I am able to loop that exact movement, but I have to keep copy and pasting the time remapped keyframes. (key frame 1=start point, key frame 2=end point. So I have key frame 1, then keyframe 2, then further down the timeline paste keyframe 1, and further down again on the timeline is keyframe 2. Which works great, but takes too long to do.)

How do I simply that job?
I read that rendering out the clip I want and re-importing, and go to interpret and apply the loop there.
But, I am wondering if I can do this without having to render a clip first?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Which loop expression are you using? Is it a cycle loop? Have you tried using a Pingpong loop instead? What this does is loops forwards, then backwards, then forwards etc. It may reduce the need for you to add as many keyframes and masks?

    cheers,
