    Hey Guys,

I have a swf exported from Flash where the last frame is the same as the first frame. It only lasts 3 seconds…but I need it to loop for 45 seconds or so.

Is there another way (besides creating 10-15 layers) to loop that animation? I have 4 other layers that I need to do this to at the same time…I see my layers getting out of control!

    hi jason,

    there are 2 ways…

one way, select the footage in the project window and choose file>interpret footage>main… at the bottom of that window you can set the number of loops. when you drag that footage into a comp it should now loop that number of times.

another way, select the footage in the timeline and choose layer>time>enable time remapping. add an expression for the time remapping property (animation>add expression) and type: loopOut(), you may need to extend the out-point of the layer for as long as you need it. but now the footage will loop indefinitely.

i prefer the later way for looping. it allows for tweaking of the loop… say the last frame is actaully a duplicate of the first frame, and you don’t want that little hitch, just add a time remap keyframe one frame in from the last keyframe and delete the last keyframe. you have now trimmed that last duplicate keyframe out.

you’ve answered a question of mine before…thanks again! You are a freakin’ genius!!

I completely forgot about the looping number in intrepret footage dialogue…

I don’t need to truncate any frames…my designer ended the design with the intention to loop with the next being frame 1. But I like the expression idea, I’ve used the looping expression before, but I’m not very good with expressions.

    Thanks again!
