loop audio intro only

Yes.

Right Click on the Audio Event, go “Properties” go “Audio Event” Tab and ensure you have “Loop” selected/checked.

Or:-

Right Click on the Audio Event, go “Switches”(new for VP12) go and ensure you have “Loop” selected/checked.

If you don’t, you’d not hear anything after the Audio had finished its first Loop-Notch. Is that what you are getting? As it says in all the best TV Game Shows: “Check That Loop!”

You also will have to insert time on the timeline so that the intro can loop. In other words, you need to move everything else to the right to make room for the longer intro. Then just drag the right edge of the audio to make it loop longer.

Thank you both. I have done exactly as directed: ‘loop’ is selected and I’ve split the audio and moved it to the left to leave space for the music intro to play twice but, alas, I still can’t get it to repeat. When I stretch it, it just continues with the rest of the song.
If I wasn’t clear in my first post what I’m trying to do is to get just the intro to repeat while the title/credits are rolling and then begin the song when my first video event starts.
I do appreciate your help very much.

The problem with doing it that way is that, as you’ve already found out, by stretching it you reveal what you’ve chopped off.
The easiest way to do what you want is to copy the shortened event, paste it into the empty space and adjust it as needed.
You’ll have to experiment by butting the new one up against the original one and see how it sounds. If that doesn’t work, then drag it over top of the original one for a fade from one to the other. Since this is a song, the amount of overlap will depend on how good it sounds to your ears.

You’ll need to make a sub clip of just the audio you want. Then drop the sub clip on the timeline and it will loop as you expect.
