January 10, 2013 at 3:50 amHello,
Okay,
Name: Western Digital Model Black Cavier. Here are the new specifications of the currently available models. I have bought in SP Road Bangalore. Got a 500gig one for RS3500 in 2010. Now the prices would have gone up.Model # Interface Form Factor RPM Capacity Cache
WD4001FAEX SATA 6 Gb/s 3.5 Inch 7200 64 MB4 TB 64 MB
WD2002FAEX SATA 6 Gb/s 3.5 Inch 7200 64 MB2 TB 64 MB
WD1002FAEX SATA 6 Gb/s 3.5 Inch 7200 64 MB1 TB 64 MB
WD5002AALX SATA 6 Gb/s 3.5 Inch 7200 32 MB500 GB 32 MB
WD5003AZEX SATA 6 Gb/s 3.5 Inch 7200 64 MB500 GB 64 MBIn India availability of 500gig drives is little diffcult so you may have to go for a 1TB only.
Here is a link for online purchase.

One more thing try to get good amount of RAM. You need to get equal share for all the cores. I have read about that in an article recently.
Eg: If you have 8 core CPU( 4 physical+4 virtual) then you need to get 16 gig so that each core get 2GB. If you try to assign half GB in PPRO/AE preferences it won’t work. In Adobe CS6 memory is automatically allocated for adobe programs depending on the amount of RAM inatlled.

I don’t envision using AE, but would love to minimize render time a AND be able to play the timeline output – without stutter – on an external monitor vi HDMI
not looking to do 4k but would be doing 1080p any idea who local could provide the tower?

I am afraid I may not be of much help to you in this case as I operate in India. The link was from a Indian retailer.

Best practice is to just create a NEW thread and not piggyback onto a very old thread, then we have to read through all the old stuff to get up to speed. Just post your question ????
Thanks
Jeff
