    Hi everybody
this is the first time ever using this or any other forum, so please don’t let me down !
I’m working on FCS3, doing some quite (small jobs) for a while now. recently I’ve been asked to film a music video and the guy wants some professional effects, and I’m scared since then.
here comes the question; Where can I find a website or .. that could show me a real world effects and EXPLAIN how they’ve done it, that i can use it in the music video.

If you search the Cow for “FCP plugins” you’ll find a lot of suggestions. Many are free. However, you’ll have to check if any will work with FCP 3. I’m certain that FXplug effects will NOT work.

Is that Final Cut Studio 3 (aka FCP 7) or Final Cut Pro 3? Big difference.

You might try to find some tutorials on lynda.com and at rippletraining.com. There are also tutorials on the websites of some plugin & VFX software companies to get you started with their products.

If you’re serious about VFX in general, you should read the “Encyclopedia of Visual Effects”.

    Hi guys
thanks very much for your reply.
I’m using the latest version, Final Cut Studio 3 (final cut pro 7) and I’m not looking for graphic effects but real world (applied to people!) so i can use it in a music video, i need someone to show me (for instance) how to sweep a camera 180 degree around objects (people) after freezing the frame (something more or less like this). If there is a plug-in doing this kind of jobs, please guys, save me the time and direct me to them and i will definitely invest, and I’ll keep searching.
Thanks so much for your kind reply

The vfx you are thinking of is like the matrix ? If so that is done on set with a load of cameras set up in a arc then ingest each camera use a point to sync up – freeze frame it and bingo bango effect – other option is to model everthing in 3d – both options are not plugins sorry to say – also check out cmi – google – they are more vfx focused

    thanks Craig
I didn’t mean that i want to do something similar but a web that explain such high end effects and technique, that could be something easy or complex, something to do with plugin or not.
Thanks very much for your reply
