looking for best mac setup for standalone project in Hawaii.
Aloha
Can any of you smart folk help me out.
Im on a documentary project in Hawaii, and looking for advice to start up a stand alone project.
Firstly thinking about premiere pro cs6.
Can it really cut multiple formats in a single timeline in full hd, unrendered(with enough computer power ofcourse)
and then spit out a useful, transcoded file of xml for finishing at a big post house?Or should I stick to fcp7 and transcode everything maybe even with prelude which is faster than log and transfere?
I have always had assistants to organise my transcoding etc. So this info will be a real help.
Secondly want to go with a MAC.
I’m mostly doing straight cuts, no layering, but I want speed to drive premiere(if i use it) for it’s realtime, no transcoding brilliance.
Do I get a supped up imac, or macbook pro with thunderbolt,
or a big rig macpro with no thunderbolt?
How much ram do I really need to drive this software, and how big does my processing power really need to be for a project like this?Thirdly, the footage is a mixture of mostly p2, some avchd and gopro, and nikon raw timelapses.
What might you suggest would be the best timeline preset in premiere pro cs6?Thanks ever so much, cause geez there are way too many options out there?
Maloha
Christopher.
