Looking For Assistance – Dialogue Sound – Adobe Audition
I’m creating a short funny film and am really trying to nail the dialogue down and saturate the film with Foley and music.
I have a general understanding of compression and have been floating towards the multi-band compressor effect in audition set to the “Kill The Harshness” preset. I would then play with the gain and threshold. And I think I’m getting pretty good results. But I’m definitely looking for a tried and true process which I can adapt to in post.
I would really like to know what some others are doing to clean up dialogue in Audition rather then me wasting time exploring thousands of options.
Also, would you normally retain the ambient sound surrounding the dialogue or silence it like I have been doing? I would then add a backing track filled with ambiance from the location or another location.
I would be happy to share one of the scenes where the sound is almost done just to get a second opinion. But don’t want to share it on the post. Just throw me a message. Looking for all ideas.I recorded all the sound using the RODE NG2 Shotgun.
