Looking for AE for laptop – which version would work best?
I have a T5500 1.66 ghz Core 2 HP laptop with 4 gigs of RAM. The project I need to complete is basic 2.5D stuff. I am not sure if my copy of AE 7 will work with the laptop, so I thought I might have to purchase an older copy of AE to complete the project. Which version would still have enough features for 3D camera movement that will work on the laptop? Any suggestions?

2.5D was introduced in AE 5.0, and virtually unchanged since then. Except for projection lights, if I recall.

Ok, thanks. According to my specs, do you think AE 6 or even AE 7 will work with it?

RAM seems good. It might be a little slow, but if you hide unneeded layers and effects while you work, it should work. Here are the AE 7 system requirements.
