Looking for a Tape audio effect plugin for SV 10

I did a search for Tape Stop and found a post by Vegas Pro forum leader, John Rofrano from last year. Here’s a link for a VST tape stop pluggin.

It works well but seems to only works live, Don’t see a way to keyframe it. The only way I could figure get the effect recorderd was to use a virtual cable. It allows you to set the output of a program to it and use another program, set to record from it. Here’s a link for a free one.

It basicly shows up as a sound card. I was able to set Vegas default audio device out to it and set default in to it as well and record from one track to another in the same Vegas program, but I could not hear it while I pressed the tape stop start button, but it recorderd it. I then set the audio device in and out back to my sound card and could then play it fine, move the event to where I want it. You could probably open two instances of Vegas, set the out of one to the Virtual audio cable and the in of the other instance to virtual audio cable leaving the default out of the second to your sound card.

To control TapeStop you need to insert an FX Automation Envelope on the audio track that you applied TapeStop and use this to control the Stop/Play parameter. This is how you tell it when to stop.

Just right-click an empty part of the track and select Insert/Remove Envelope | FX Automation then click on TapeStop and check the box next to Stop/Play (<10=stop) and press OK. Then create a keyframe on the envelope at the point you want the audio to stop and set its value to zero. You can also use the play button in TapeStop itself to set keyframes in realtime.

I know it’s been a long time but I don’t have “TapeStop” on FX Automation. I only have Treshold Level, Attack Time, Release Time and Bypass. I’m using SV Pro 11. What should I do?

I love TapeStop, and have been using if for years, on Vegas Pro, but I’ve been forced into a situation where I have to work in the ProTools enviro, unfortunately, and on predominantly Mac machines, so I’m amazed that there are NO other “plug-pull” plugin solutions out there. I’ve tried jury-rigging all sorts of other plugs and plug combinations, and nothing works like TapeStop. By the way, yes, TapeStop is totally automatable, Anyone have any ideas on options?

Run Windows in a Virtual Machine on a Mac and use TapeStop there. Here is a snapshot of Vegas Pro running on my Mac desktop:

Hello
I’m new to SV and want to apply the TapeStop effect.
I applied it on the audio track i want, inserted a FX Automation Envelope, checked Stop/Play (<10=stop) and gave the envelope its keyframes where to go to zero.

But when i play that audio track its keeps its speed and do not stop at the zero keyframe.

I’m sure i’m doing somethign wrong.
I’m trying to read the quick manual but hard to understand what he is talking about.
