I’m currently learning XHTML/CSS, and constantly running into problems with things not working when the code is laid out in way that should work according to the standards, but doesn’t for a variety of reasons. Is there a good HTML/CSS book out there that explains how the different parts of HTML/CSS actually interact and work in a browser, as opposed to just documenting the standards?

    hello…

Brian’s recommendations are good ones, but also just try the net – there are tons of sites dedicated to the differences in css and layout between browsers, and they tend to be more current and also provide real-time examples for you to see what the subtle differences are…plus that saves you $50… 🙂

I’ve been reading CSS Mastery. It’s great. There are some paragraphs that are just pure gold.
The chapters about the box model and clearing floats were quite helpful. It’s not really expensive, either.

    Online, I suggest

    And good luck! 🙂
