Looking for a li’l assistance with some Motion Tracking
Hey gang…
I’m trying to think, but I honestly don’t remember ever having to come to the AE forum before.
I’m usually a daily haunter (and host) in the Biz & Marketing, Cinematography, and Lighting Design forums… but now I have an AE issue.
Actually… I’m looking to farm out a little motion tracking job. I’m trying to place an element in a fixed position in a 3D space with a moving camera (I’m guessing using Mocha?…I’m not an AE guy). I don’t think it’s hard, it just a little bit out of my wheelhouse and area of expertise.
I technically probably should post this in Jobs, but I’d rather just ask folks in here first.
I’ll keep details in here to a minimum, but if anyone would like to hear more please shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to tell you all about it.

There’s no need to necesarrily use Mocha, you can do it in AE with the 3D tracker tool. Here’s a technique you can use and also add a “shadow catcher” to the element you are placing in the scene:

Yeah, as I said I’m not an AE guy, I’m looking to farm it out, not do it myself…
