Looking for a cheap way to covert rendered vegas files into an upload-able video (mp4, avi, etc.)
I’ve used “MacX Video Converter for Windows” in the past, but the free version only allows the conversion of up to two minutes of footage (and the full version costs $30). None of the online mxf converters have worked for me either. Is there a free alternative, or am I going to have to shell out a bit of money (I’m perfectly willing to, but wanted to see if this was possible to do for free first). Thanks!

Where are you uploading them too?
What format do you need, anything specific?Handbrake is free and does a good job. It is also cross platform.

Tell me something? If you have Vegas and already can easily render out crisp,
excellent MP4 formats, why in the world are you seeking an alternative?
And even so, doing this gonna compress your video even further, thus reducing
its overall quality!However, Scott recommended a good choice, which is Handbrake, but instead
of using it as a third party video convertor as you are seeking, there is a script available where you can easily frameserve your Vegas render to Handbrake which is a ton better if choosing this route…Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

I’m sorry, I’m pretty new to Sony Vegas (only had it for around a week). When I render a video, Vegas creates a .mxf file in my documents folder. An mp4 file does not appear to be created (not sure why). I’m thinking this may be because I clicked “render” instead of “render as”.

I’m using Vegas Pro 13 and I do…
File – Render As – MainConcep AVC/AAC – Internet HD 720p.
It renders as a .mp4 file.
