Has anyone heard or purchased a computer from CyberPower Inc.? I have been editing on my I7 laptop AVCHD files and would like to cut down on my rendering time. I have been looking at different forums and the only thing people agree on are the GPU’s.
I have a duo 2 core MacBook Pro that have been using before and have moved to windows. I have to say that the reason I have purchase the Mac was because of the Final Cut Pro software and I did not have to pick out my brain to figure the hardware.
I had been using Avid Liquid and I did not see an upgrade path on the new hardware or software that it would support. They favored the ATI GPU cards and Windows XP. I felt that Apple was an easier choice for these reasons.
There are a lot of computer choices on the windows platform but not many clear or affordable solutions to use the Adobe software. I would like to get away from Apple products and find a Windows computer.
I do not want to build a computer and find out that parts are incompatible and by the time I finish building the software has been upgraded and parts are obsolete and the program is not working.
The Avid Media Composer works on both my Apple computer and PC with one license, just activate and deactivate. I had to upgrade to CS5.5 to get the Adobe software on my PC. After going through live help and phone calls they told me I can’t use my Adobe license on both platforms which I had asked at the beginning. I am hoping that Adobe can make it easier for people to either suggest what budget computer to get or offer cross-platform like Avid.
    Thank you,
    David

I have placed an order with CyberPowerpc using some of the suggestions from the Videoguys Guide. I did talk with them about the ATI video card on their HD video original configuration and just noticed that they changed it to the NVIDEA GTX 570. So I know they are open to suggestions.
I am editing with my ASUS laptop G73JW AVCHD files. The render times are long. I am hoping to reduce the render times with the new system. This will be my first experience with Cyber Power PC, they do mostly computer for gamers but they have flexible configurations. I have been looking other places and their prices are closer to my budget. And I have tried looking at putting the components together and the prices much higher.
I am hoping that they do have a decent quality build. They do offer a 3 year warranty. Maybe this information would help someone else.

Lots of folks on the Adobe Premiere Pro forum have good things to say about ADK. They build computers for professionals doing Video / Audio and a like. They also are active participants in that forum as well. Now thats very cool. I am not associated with them, just sharing what I have seen. And I think I will be getting my next one there. Bye bye Mac Pro.

I looked at ADK and there systems look good, no doubt. My budget for hardware alone is $1600 for an i7 processor. I don’t think I can get that low a price at ADK.
