I’ve got an upshot of a driver in a car shifting gears. We purposely exposed it so that the sky is completely blown out. We now want to replace the “white” sky with another clip of a beautifully shot blue sky with soft puffy clouds. But we don’t know how to do this.

One other problem we DIDN’T forsee. The driver is wearing white pants and highlights on the hand and shifter are white. I suppose this will entail using some garbage matte or something.

Sure. Just block out (“garbage matte or something”) the areas you DON’T want to key-out.

Otherwise, just use the “Luma Key” on the driver clip and set it to “Key Out Lighter”.

Put your “good” sky on the video track below the driver footage.

Fine-tuning the adjustments will make all the difference.
