The Z1 is not great for touch accuracy, but the iPad Pro with pencil is amazing. OTOH – the Z1 is a superb workstation – head and shoulders above the iMac for serious work and expandability.
Ironically, though, what Microsoft has learned from Apple in the Surface line, is end-to-end control of the ecosystem. There is also a definite attention to industrial design. I know a few folks with Surface tablets and they are very happy with them.

Interesting, how are you working now – are you designing and animating locally and sending final renders off to a cloud service, or mostly rendering locally and pushing big jobs up to a service? Would replacing your other machines with the Surface Studio change the way you approach rendering?
