I wanted to post a great big thank-you to this forum and everyone that helped with advice.

I shot this movie 4 years ago and have been in post ever since!
I started with Vegas 4.0, finished with 7.0

Problems solved by this forum and nowhere else to name a few were:

2ND audio channel not capturing,DVCAM camera master using a dsr11 sony deck, with camera on channel 1 and boom channel 2. Scenalizer was recommended and fixed this
The answer came in at 2 a.m. my time by someone in England within just a few minutes!

Computer crashed and fried all data. I had veg edit files backed up but the video captured was lost. Re-capture did not work. Forum helped with re-loading questions. Forum told me how to reload the capture files, or all would have been lost.
I had to re-create all the clips with exactly the same time-code in and outs, clip by clip but then Vegas used them perfectly after that.
Sony just created a “Report” and was no help at all.

    16×9 issues

    color correction methods

Sound questions and on and on.

    Thank you all!

Tons of color correction/adjustment, and all picture FX’s done only using Vegas
Sound was done outside by a sound designer but my dialog edit was clean and adjusted fine.

Thanks, It is an amazing feeling to finish a feature, as they are so much work!
I started many years ago, on a FAST Video Machine and recieved a lot of advise from a frequent poster here Doug Graham, Vegas does everything with software that used to require very expensive hardware, and so much more, It’s real creative freedom.
Whenever Editors ask me for advice I always send them to the Cows!

Greg -Nice…but a small nitpicky comment – You misspelled one of the words in one of your title sequences. You used the word ‘loose’ when I believe you wantetd to use ‘lose’

Thanks, that is a silly mistake!
I have trouble in that area.

I started many years ago, on a FAST Video Machine
Incredible. Same here. I started on Fast VM, back in 1992 and moved to vegas with V4.
Sadly, I scrapped Fast VM last month. It was also a wonderful and innovative software.

I’m another old “Fasternaut” as well. I still have 3 Fast VM’s that I use in the operation of a city government channel. With the hybrid editing and a no render output, they keep churning out uncomplicated pieces on a daily basis! I also came to Vegas on ver 4.

Amazing! we have a club going here!
Defining clips , clapturing and re-capture was perfct with these units. I repaired many edits by insert editing a frame or two spot on to beta masters. Machine control really worked!

Downside, Another company that did not believe in Tec support, System should have been more accepted and evolved faster.

Big Hello! to the FAST Vet’s
