    Hello,

I’m working on a fairly long program (1280 x 720 XDCAM EX / 160-170 mins) in FCP, and I need to get it on a DVD 5. Tests out of Compressor are coming out generally good (it’s an installation video, and there’s not a lot of fast motion or colors), but here and there edges are getting a little jagged. Is there a setting I’m missing? Average bitrate is 3.3.

I’ve also run a few tests on CinemaCraft MP (6-8 passes), but the results haven’t been as good as Compressor, which surprises me. Is there a rule of thumb for the number of passes CCMP needs?

    Thanks for any help.

Difficult to tell, you haven’t provided any or your settings other than bit rate!

Please provide a detailed run down of exactly what settings you are using.

    I’m using:

    Two Pass VBR
    ABR: 3.3
    MBR: 7
    Best motion estimation
    Progressive field

The show is 29.97 16 x 9. Sourced and edited with XDCAM EX 720p30

    thanks for any assistance!
