Through much trial and error, I have worked out animated long hair that is not too bad, but I still feel like it bounces more than natural, so I was hoping somebody could suggest how I might tweak it better. I have tried reducing the rest hold, stiffness, etc. but that seems to make the hair swing more wildly. Real long hair tends to hang more like a heavy curtain that falls to the shoulders–it moves freely with the head movements at the upper part, but the ends tend to stay put more where they drape onto the shoulders. Attached is a link to my example. I’m wondering if somebody might suggest a way for the ends not to swing around so much without making the whole mass look either too stiff, or too loose?

I’d play around with the hair mass, rest hold, and drag parameters.
