    Hi
I am having trouble importing a Long Motion JPEG A type into FCP. I find that if i create a short file, it goes into FCP 6 fine, but a long one (2 hours and more) brings up a “file not recognised” error.

    Any suggestions as to
    1) why
    2) what i could do about it
    or
    3) what file type I could make that WILL go in. It needs to be smaller than pro res (which goes in fine) and I found that motionj peg was 1/10th size to perfect/

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

FCP doesn’t edit that format natively…you should be converting it to a codec FCP does work with, like ProRes.

    Hi thanks for that.
The hard drive is ntfs format and works fine on my Mac with fcp.
If that file type us t supported what else apart from pro res is support ed. Pro res seems overkill as it’s just a PowerPoint t recording .
