Logo reflecting lights from moving sources

My quandry;
How do I make a logo look like it’s reflecting lights from moving sources that are behind the camera…I know you have all seen this effect but for the life of me I can’t figure it out. I want the logo to have some sort of animated light gleaming off of it as if headlights were constantly illuminating it as the cars moved by.I’m sorry if I’m not explaining this properly but if someone could hazard a reply I’d be grateful.
Anime’-tedly yours,

You’ll probably have to play around with your reflection source to get the right effect, but this should get you headed in the right direction

February 3, 2009 at 3:16 amOne trick to attack any effect is to look at the real thing, what is happening visually to the pixels. A reflection is just a distorted image, plus some glows, plus some harsh blacks and whites to give the chrome look. a bit of lens flare, some rainbow to simulate refraction etc.
Lots of layers will help give you a really rich look. A couple of layers an a plug-in won’t really cut it.
My current project has about 50 layers for one shot, the whole timeline is 280+
