    Hello,

I am creating a logo build for a company and am animating lines flowing into the letters. It is working fine as far as that, but it looks too mechanical for what the client needs. They need something more whispy and elegant, so I am trying to have maybe some trails when the lines flow, sort of how the Vegas plugin works. I did try vegas but didn’t have much luck with it. Please let me know if there’s something else I can do or some tips. Thanks and here is what I have so far..

You could try using the 3dstroke plugin and enable the “taper” property. That would give (obviously) a tapered edge, which would probably be more elegant. You could screw around with the echo effect as well.

Thanks for your help, I think 3d stroke is the way to go for this.

Or you could use particles. I’ve seen Trapcode’s Particular used to make some very ethereal lines of light floating in the air.
Even if you use 3d Stroke you could use particles to add to the effect.

    Subtlety is key.
