Hi There & Thanks In Advance!!!

I’m working in FCP 7.0.3 and a 640 x 480 NTSC SD sequence. My footage is a 640 x 480 QT file. I also need to use an animated logo that is a 1920 x 1080 MPEG-4 file. This logo seems to look fine in the canvas but when I export it looks a little bit soft.

My render control is set to “always use best quality” & “best quality” in the sequence settings. I’ve tried exporting a number of ways but ultimately this video is for youtube so I believe I need to stick to MPEG-4.

If anyone can shed light on what I’ve missed it would be greatly appreciated!

I’ll bet your sequence settings have defaulted to DV codec. If so then change the sequence codec settings to ProRes 422 and it will render better. DV is a horrible old legacy codec that turns graphics and text to mush
