  • Logic mixes are missing audio in AFX timeline, but not Project Preview Window

I have, in Logic, married the sound from the camera to the sound from a field recorder, and rendered it as a ProRes Quicktime. I’ve imported it into AFX, and doubleclicking on the source file in the Project window allows the clip to play just fine (though the 1.33pixel aspect is not compensated and it plays as a 4×3 rather than 16×9)

However, this clip, which plays correctly in both QT and in AFX’s own preview window, does not play sound in the timeline when previewed. Of course, all of the audio from all of the the other clips plays back fine- it’s only this one mix that i have exported as a movie from Logic. Which is, of course, the only sound I want to use 🙂

    What gives?

It is always best to render audio in a audio only format- wav or aiff.Do that and you should have no problem- just match the settings of your audio file and AE comp.
As far as AE- it is not really meant for audio mixing, use a editing program like Premiere or Final Cut to mix your final video and audio.
